Most of the collection reflects Lozano Holtzman's interest in genealogy and her role as a co-founder of the Society of Hispanic Historical and Ancestral Research and editor of its journal, Somos Primos. There are administrative records, correspondence, and publications. There are also a large number of copies of 18th- and 19th-century baptismal, marriage, and funeral records from churches in San Antonio, Texas and surrounding Bexar County. There are also records from and Coahuila and Nuevo Leon, Mexico. There is some documentation of her puppetry career and her teaching in Orange County secondary schools, where she specialized in bilingual education. Particularly well-documented are the educational materials she helped developed for Vietnamese refugees, which concentrated on language acquisition and cultural assimilation. These include study guides and videotapes. There is a fair amount of material about veterans' issues. There is also material documenting her participation in the civic life of Orange County, California with groups such as the Committee for Positive Hispanic Visibility and the Lincoln-Juarez Opportunity Center.
